We're Dave and Janet: We've been together since 2003, married since January 2006, have two evil cats, and are now expecting our first child (aka "The Child/Bebeh/Platypus/etc" until we know if it is a Him or a Her) in October. How do we feel about this? Excited and terrified in equal measures, and fully expecting this child to be spoiled rotten by their two sets of eager, first-time grandparents.
Since we live roughly 1,500 miles from my family and 1,800 miles from Dave's family, a blog is going to be one of the easiest ways to keep everyone updated on Spawn's development.... And our bound-to-be-mistake-filled journey into parenthood. Poor kid.
Everyone loves a blog post with pictures, so I present to you three pictures from our 12 week ultrasound, wherein The Child did everything in its' meager power to turn away from the doctor and the ultrasound probe as if saying, "Hey, it's warm and dark in here. I'm trying to sleep! Go away!"

And thus the blogosphere was enriched by Spawn. No, not the comic book anti-hero, but a new spawn, one erupted from the loins of Janet and Dave. Mayhap someday this new spawn will live up to the image of it's comic-book predecessor and become a ruthless vigilante metering justice with each flap of its magical cape.
